Pharma Connect (“we”, “us”) is a professional network for pharmacists, pharmacy students and pharmaceutical professionals, primarily in Bangladesh. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Pharma Connect mobile app and website, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google account name, email and Google ID if you sign in with Google.
- Profile information you add: photo and cover image, headline, professional category, education, experience, skills, certifications, languages, location (district) and username.
- Content you create: posts, images, polls, comments, reactions, shared links, questions and answers, groups, events, recommendations and endorsements.
- Messages: direct messages and the photos or PDF files you attach to them.
- Career information: job applications, the CVs you upload, cover notes and saved jobs. Recruiters provide company details and job listings.
- Verification documents: degree certificates, Pharmacy Council registration or employment documents you choose to submit for a verified badge.
- Activity and usage: connections, follows, group memberships, event RSVPs, mentorship requests, profile views and the posts that appear in your feed (used to count unique post views).
- Device information: a push-notification token for your device if you allow notifications, and basic technical data such as app version needed to keep the service working.
2. How we use it
- To create and run your account and show your professional profile.
- To suggest relevant people, groups, events and jobs, and to show how your profile matches a job (calculated on your device and shown only to you).
- To deliver messages, notifications, event reminders and an optional weekly email digest.
- To review verification documents and job listings, and to prevent fraud, spam and abuse.
- To show authors aggregated statistics about their own posts, such as view counts and the professions and districts of viewers.
- To produce anonymous salary insights from job listings whose employers chose to publish the salary. Figures are only shown when at least three listings contribute, so no single employer can be identified.
- To fetch previews of links you paste into a post. Our server visits the link to read its title and image; your device does not.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who can see what
- Your profile, posts, comments, questions and answers are visible to signed-in members. Posts in a private group are visible only to that group’s members.
- Your email and phone number are private unless you choose to share them with connections or members in Settings.
- CVs are shared only with the company you apply to.
- Verification documents are visible only to you and authorised reviewers.
- Messages and attachments are visible only to the people in the conversation. Attachments are stored privately and opened through links that expire.
- Event attendance is visible to people viewing the event. Online meeting links are shared only with attendees and the host.
- Profile views: members can see who viewed their profile unless you turn on private browsing in Settings → Privacy.
4. Signing in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and a unique account identifier with us. We use them only to create or sign in to your Pharma Connect account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your contacts, Gmail or other Google data. You can remove Pharma Connect’s access at any time in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps & services.
5. Service providers
Pharma Connect’s servers store account and service data in a database and store uploaded files on our servers. We use Google services for “Sign in with Google” and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications to devices that enable them. These providers may process data outside Bangladesh and are used only to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect members from fraud or harm.
6. Retention
- We keep your information for as long as your account is active.
- In-app notifications expire automatically after 90 days.
- Some records, such as moderation decisions, may be kept where required by law or to resolve disputes.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your profile, posts, connections, messages you sent, CVs and verification documents. If you cannot access the app, email us from the address on your account (see Contact us) and we will delete it for you.
8. Your choices
- Edit or remove profile information at any time.
- Control who can message you and who can see your contact details.
- Choose which push notifications and emails you receive, including the weekly digest.
- Block or report members, and delete your own posts, answers and messages.
- Ask us for a copy of your data.
9. Security
Data is transferred over encrypted connections, passwords are hashed, and access to private data is enforced by our servers and staff permissions. No system is perfectly secure; please report any security concern to us promptly.
10. Children
Pharma Connect is a professional service and is not intended for children under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect and update the date at the top of this page.
